They had vegan burgers, which tasted great! The waitress was very nice and helpful. There are also several vegetarian options on the menu, such as cheeseburgers, lettuce wraps, and salads.
Had brunch here after Whitney summit the day before. The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly. The place is clean and spacious as well. I like the variety of food options on the menu. Will definitely come back next time while in the area!
Dined at The Grill the night before our Mount Whitney backpacking trip about two weeks ago. There aren't a whole lot of options in Lone Pine but I'm pleased to report The Grill is one worth checking out! There was no wait on a Thursday evening and the gentleman who was our server had a great sense of humor. Based on his recommendations, I decided on the Pulled Pork sandwich... It was messy - that's how I know it was great! If memory serves me correctly, two of my dining companions ordered the Philly Cheesecake while the other got a chicken dish, I think? We were all pleased with our experience and headed to Whitney Portal to begin our adventure. We were pretty weary about the weather for our adventure but, as our server said, we were fine :)
Arrived in Lone Pine late on a Friday night, prepping for a weekend hike up Mount Whitney, and stumbled upon The Grill, conveniently located near our motel. The place was open late, which was perfect. The staff welcomed us warmly, creating a friendly atmosphere right from the start. I tried the Dust Devil pasta, a dish praised in several Yelp reviews, and it did not disappoint. The spicy chipotle sauce blended perfectly with the linguini and mushrooms, delivering a flavor-rich experience with just the right level of spice. It also came with a fresh garden salad on the side, adding to the meal's freshness. The portions were so generous that I ended up taking the leftovers for lunch the next day. Overall, The Grill offers not just great food but also excellent service with a smile. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Lone Pine!
We enjoy this restaurant on our way to Southern CA for Christmas, it was charming and the potato salad was good, the chicken sandwich was nicely seasoned, sauce was yummy. Right next to the Dow Villa Motel where we stayed the day before Christmas Eve, it's a historical landmark where the western movie stars use to stay. Perfect location!
